My hardware and software tools when working on my book
Having lots of books and references when writing a book is not fun…. I think I have now found my tools of choice when it comes to my technical working environment. I have a Dell 30 inch monitor, running Dell XPS M1210 laptop with Microsoft Office 2007. The two key components of my work are Mindjet LLC’s
Mindmanager mindmapping software and Microsoft OneNote 2007 software. MindManager lets me view things visually from a relationship perspective and OneNote let’s me place text, group things copy things from the web and many other things in a very easy way.
I think you’re onto something, using MindManager in creative applications. I found it very useful for writing papers when I was in school.
And OneNote is killer as a raw, no holds-barred environment to get everything out of your head.
Hi Kyle,
Thanks for your commments. I have now used this combination for the past few days and I was kind of struggeling with MindManager (even if I am very happy) is the fact it forces you somehow to create linkages immediately, while Microsoft Onenote is helping me to offload my brain as you said with beautiful search features
